Texas holds 32% of the solar, wind and storage capacity scheduled to be built in the US, but only 9% of the people who already work in the field.
Texas has 1.2 GW of solar, wind and storage on the way for every 1,000 clean energy workers, about 3.4 times the national rate of 0.35 GW.
Lineworkers lead clean energy field and trade roles, with a median advertised salary of $117,146.
About one in four solar roles is entry level. In battery storage and hydrogen it is fewer than one in twenty.
NERC certification is the credential named most often in open US clean energy job postings (248 postings). NABCEP is named in only 22.
Wind turbine technician is Texas's most common clean energy opening: 154 open US roles, a $58,760 median advertised salary, and 40 openings in Texas alone.
