System Administrator, SNOC/Service Desk

Job Description

As a System Administrator, you will operate in a Microsoft Windows-based environment supporting both IT and OT systems, including control center operations. You will serve as the final point of escalation for the Service Desk during normal business hours, owning complex incident resolution across enterprise systems and sites.

This day shift role provides business-hours operational support, incident response, ticket resolution, and cross-functional coordination to maintain reliable IT and OT services during the standard workday.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the final escalation point for Service Desk incidents and support requests during normal business hours.
• Own and resolve complex IT and OT issues across control center, corporate, and remote site environments.
• Monitor and manage assigned tickets, ensuring timely resolution, documentation, and escalation when needed.
• Collaborate with server, network, security, application, and OT support teams to resolve incidents and service requests.
• Participate in IT change management processes, maintenance planning, and system improvement initiatives.
• Identify trends in support issues and recommend long-term solutions that improve reliability, user experience, and operational efficiency.
• Maintain support documentation, troubleshooting procedures, and knowledgebase articles for Service Desk and operations teams.
• Provide clear communication to users, stakeholders, and technical teams regarding incident status, resolution steps, and next actions.

Day Shift Operational Support Responsibilities

• Support daily monitoring and operational health checks for assigned IT and OT systems, including control center-related technologies.
• Respond to business-hours system alerts, outages, service interruptions, and high-priority incidents.
• Initiate incident triage, technical investigation, escalation, and coordination with appropriate resolver groups.
• Coordinate structured handoffs for unresolved incidents at the end of the assigned workday.
• Ensure accurate ticket updates, incident notes, user communications, and handoff details for unresolved or ongoing issues.
• Partner with Service Desk technicians to provide technical guidance, mentoring, and escalation support.
• Contribute to root cause analysis, post-incident follow-up, and corrective action tracking for recurring or high-impact issues.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field required.
• Three 3+) years of experience supporting enterprise IT environments, Service Desk operations, or systems administration functions.
• Strong experience with Microsoft environments including Microsoft 365, Windows server, and workstation operating systems.
• Experience with incident management, escalation, troubleshooting, and resolution of complex technical issues.
• Experience supporting business-critical systems, operational environments, or distributed site support preferred.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, documentation, and technical leadership skills.
• Excellent communication, customer service, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Eligible to work in the United States without employer visa sponsorship now or in the future.

Preferred Requirements

• Exposure to networking, systems infrastructure, and OT environments preferred.
• Technical certifications preferred, including Microsoft, CompTIA, ITIL, networking, security, or related infrastructure certifications.

Base Pay

$88,000.00 - $108,000.00 USD Annual

Bonus: 20% - 30%

The base pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target salary for the position. Invenergy considers a number of factors when determining base pay offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education and skills.
