Position Summary

This position is responsible for coordinating, investigating, and assembling information for BES (Bulk Electric System) transmission projects in advance of commissioning and initial energization.  The role is FERT Coordinator and is the lead role for the region’s Facility Energization Ratings Team (FERT).  The FERT will coordinate the activities associated with installed component verifications following construction involving BES components.  The FERT organization also provides the Facility Ratings Coordinator (FRC) routine meetings and contact points to help address installation, component, or ratings questions related to Facility Ratings.  The FERT activities are performed for all projects involving BES components, no matter whether the design, procurement or construction is performed by Duke Energy personnel or by a third party vendor company.  The FERT activities include not only energizations at the end of a project or the end of project phases, but each separate energization of BES components that are part of a project.
