Position Overview
As Manager, Services Business Development - Brazil, you will be based at Invenergy’s office in São Paulo, Brazil, and serve a key commercial leader for Invenergy Services in the Brazilian market. You will be responsible for building and maintaining strong customer relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and driving the growth of Invenergy’s renewable energy services – including wind, solar and storage – with a focus on Operations & Maintenance and expanding offerings in field services such as major correctives.
The Commercial Lead will own opportunities throughout the commercial lifecycle – starting with market development through contract negotiation. This role requires a commercially driven professional who combines strong business development and negotiation capabilities with an understanding of renewable energy operations, engineering, and service delivery.
Regular travel to customer offices, operational sites and industry events will be required to strengthen customer relationships, identify opportunities, and expand Invenergy’s local market presence.
Responsibilities
- Lead commercial activities for Invenergy Services in Brazil, with a focus on growing revenue through new and existing customers.
- Own the commercial lifecycle of opportunities from initial customer engagement and qualification through proposal development, pricing, negotiation, contract execution, and handoff to Operations.
- Develop and implement creative strategies to expand Invenergy’s service offerings, including long-term O&M agreements, field services, major correctives and other renewable energy service offerings.
- Identify, assess, prioritize and pursue new business opportunities aligned with Invenergy’s strategic goals. Represent Invenergy in customer meetings, site visits, and industry events across Brazil.
- Lead commercial and contractual negotiations with customers, including scope, pricing, payment terms, performance obligations, warranties, liabilities, service levels, and other key commercial terms.
- Work closely with the Operations, Asset Management, Legal and Marketing teams to craft tailored, customer proposals, as well as building and maintaining brand recognition throughout LATAM.
- Maintain commercial involvement with key accounts following contract execution, supporting renewals, amendments, scope expansions, and resolution of significant commercial issues.
- Translate technical and operational requirements into clear commercial proposals and customer value propositions.
- Lead the development of pricing strategies and commercial models in coordination with Operations, Finance, Engineering, and other stakeholders, ensuring appropriate consideration of cost, margin, execution risk, market conditions, and customer value..
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date data in the CRM system regarding opportunities and customer interactions.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, pricing dynamics, customer strategies, and emerging service needs and translate market intelligence into actionable commercial strategies.
- Report regularly on commercial activities and pipeline updates to senior leadership.
- Foster a culture of innovation, efficiency and continuous improvement in service delivery.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Economics, Engineering, Finance or similar field. An engineering degree is strongly preferred.
- Professional experience in business development, commercial management, contract negotiation, operations, engineering, asset management, or a combination of these disciplines within the energy or industrial sectors.
- Strong understanding of commercial contracts and ability to identify and negotiate key business, operational, and contractual risks.
- Fluent in Portuguese and English. Spanish is a plus.
- Proven ability to work independently and take initiative, with minimal oversight.
- Strong organizational and communication skills, with high attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to build trust with customers and internal teams.
- Strategic thinker with strong negotiation and creative problem-solving skills.
- Willingness to travel and ability to accommodate Chicago HQ time difference.
- Demonstrated ability to perform under significant time and pressure conditions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in the Brazilian renewable generation services markets, particularly in wind and solar O&M and field services.
- Experience structuring, pricing, and negotiating long-term service agreements, O&M contracts, field service agreements, or technically complex service scopes.
- Familiarity with renewable generation equipment, maintenance strategies, major component replacement activities, balance-of-plant services, and common operational risks.
- Experience working directly with renewable asset owners, OEMs, or infrastructure investors.
- Strong presentation, customer-facing, and public-speaking capabilities.
- Efficient mindset and commitment to growing a long-term presence in Brazil.
