This position supports an engineering team responsible for delivering electric distribution solutions for residential, commercial, industrial, and municipal customers. Engineers manage projects from concept through construction while collaborating with customers, developers, contractors, and operations personnel to ensure successful project delivery and an excellent customer experience.
The Engineer II position is the intermediate level of the Engineering classification hierarchy. Employees in the Engineer II position solve complex problems in engineering areas of specialization with general supervision. An Engineer II is expected to develop advanced skills, and the ability to work with greater independence. An Engineer II effectively applies fundamental concepts and procedures to work that is fairly complex and varied.
The Engineer III position is the advanced level of the Engineering classification hierarchy. Employees in the Engineer III position solve complex problems in engineering areas of specialization with limited supervision. An Engineer III is expected to develop advanced skills, and the ability to work with greater independence. An Engineer III effectively applies fundamental concepts and procedures to work that is progressively complex and varied.
In this role, the engineer will serve within the distribution business unit, acting as the primary contact for customers, stakeholders, and internal teams throughout the entire lifecycle of new construction projects. Whether managing commercial or residential work orders, the engineer will take ownership of each project, ensuring clear communication and coordination from initial customer request through project completion. The successful candidate will be highly customer service oriented, capable of anticipating and addressing client needs, and adept at building relationships with diverse groups.
Key Responsibilities:
- Serve as the single point of contact for all new construction projects (commercial and residential), guiding customers through every phase—from design and planning to execution and close-out.
- Design a power delivery plan and prepare construction prints for each project utilizing engineering skills and several design tools.
- Coordinate with internal departments, external partners, and stakeholders to facilitate timely and effective project delivery.
- Foster a team environment, working closely with colleagues to ensure seamless project progression and resolve challenges as they arise.
- Communicate proactively and professionally, keeping all parties informed and maintaining transparency throughout the project.
- Demonstrate strong follow-up skills, attention to detail, and a dedication to delivering outstanding customer experiences.
