The role of the Risk & Assurance Lead sits within the SPT Performance & Reporting team reporting to the Enterprise Performance & Planning Manager. They are primarily responsible for ensuring that SPT has an effectively designed and operating consolidated risk framework in place. The role is responsible for defining and implementing an appropriate risk-based prioritisation model and providing sufficient assurance over strategic business risks to Executive Management and the SPT Managing Director

The Risk & Assurance Lead is also responsible for managing the business interface with key stakeholders, including risk functions within SPT PMOs, the SPEN Enterprise Risk Partner and Network Planning & Regulation, ensuring proactive visibility of relevant enterprise risks.

What you’ll be doing

As Risk & Assurance Lead, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining the risk management framework across SP Transmission, ensuring a consistent and effective approach to risk identification, assessment and governance. Working closely with stakeholders across the business, you will consolidate project and operational risks into a strategic view, providing insight and assurance to senior leaders and supporting informed decision-making.

You will lead the production of risk reporting and assurance activities across the portfolio, ensuring risks and opportunities are accurately quantified, managed and escalated where required. The role will involve chairing risk forums, delivering risk-based reviews and assurance programmes, and driving action plans that strengthen controls, improve performance and support successful project delivery.

As the key interface with Enterprise Risk, Network Planning & Regulation and the wider SPEN risk community, you will ensure alignment with SPEN and Iberdrola standards while maintaining awareness of emerging industry risks. You will champion continuous improvement, embedding best practice risk and assurance processes that enhance resilience, governance and business performance across the organisation.
