Location: East Hartford, CT

Salary: $116,640 - $145,800

Schedule: On Site - Office

Job Summary

The Project Manager – Major Construction is a key leader within Connecticut Natural Gas’s capital delivery organization, responsible for managing and executing large‑scale, multi‑million‑dollar construction projects that modernize and replace critical components of the gas distribution system. This role oversees complex capital gas replacement programs, including main replacement, system upgrades, and infrastructure hardening initiatives that directly enhance safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance across CNG’s service territory.

You will lead projects from planning through construction and closeout, coordinating engineering, operations, contractors, municipalities, and regulatory stakeholders. The work involves heavy civil and underground utility construction, requiring strong field presence, technical judgment, and the ability to navigate congested corridors, aging infrastructure, and dynamic field conditions.

As a Major Construction PM, you will be accountable for project scope, budget, schedule, contractor performance, risk mitigation, and adherence to all safety and compliance requirements. You will also provide transparent reporting to internal leadership and external regulatory bodies, ensuring capital investments are delivered efficiently and responsibly.

This is a high‑impact, high‑visibility role that offers the opportunity to shape the future of Connecticut’s gas infrastructure while leading some of the most significant construction programs in the region.
